Over the past few weeks, there has been an increase in anti-Asian violence in the US. Being half Korean, and having spent part of my formative years in the US, its been painful and disheartening to read the seemingly endless stories in the news of anti-Asian sentiment and outright hate and violence against the AAPI community in the US. Since COVID-19 first started to take hold, we’ve seen the amount of hateful and ignorant rhetoric directed at the Asian community grow, and to a certain degree ‘normalized,’ and it’s time to take a stand against this hate in all of its forms. I can’t pretend to have all the answers, but I do know that by speaking up, taking a stand, and educating ourselves and others, we can start to make a difference. Any action is a positive step forward.

With that said, myself and the rest of the LANE EIGHT team recognize that racism and violence against the AAPI community is not a recent phenomenon and that, even by taking these actions, we still have a long way to go to dismantle systemic racism. We hope that you take some time to peruse the links below, reflect, and join us in taking a stand.

Wondering how you can learn more, support equality, and combat anti-AAPI violence?  We will be adding to this list as the month goes on, and please send your suggestions and comments to community@laneeight.com
